The presentation, atmosphere and service all add up to a total Bistro 41 event. Located at Bell Tower (near Saks) in Ft. Myer’s, Bistro 41 has multiple seating options: outside to watch shoppers and near fountains, on the North side surrounded by art work and drawn striped curtins, inside at the bar or in the formal dining room. They serve lunch, happy hour specials from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., early dining pre fix from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.and dinner. The early bird includes a choice of salad, entree, dessert and a glass of wine for $29. Items of note slow roasted award winning pork pot roast braised in port wine, herbs and special seasonings served on a bed of homemade mashed potatoes dressed with caramelized onion, beurre monte and port wine reduction. This melts in your mouth, could be split, large portion or order the small plate. We ordered the teriyaki salmon. While pleasing to the eye, the salmon was overcooked and the sauce too sweet. For starters, we definitely recommend the french onion soup made with veal stock with a infused with wine and topped with crouton and melted cheese and the tomato parmesan bisque. On the app list check out the Famous 41 Flat, a European feast of cheeses, fruits — add prosciutto, scallops, filet or Boursin cheese for an upcharge. The salads are excellent and available with protein. Service was excellent, time between courses and time for conversation. Check it out.
